IMPLEMENTASI TERAPI INHALASI NEBULIZER UNTUK MENGATASI BERSIHAN JALAN NAFAS TIDAK EFEKTIF PADA ANAK DENGAN BRONKOPNEUMONIA DI RUMAH SAKIT BHAYANGKARA MAKASSAR

Introduction: Bronchopneumonia is one type of pneumonia and is also called lobular pneumonia which is characterized by the presence of infiltrate patches that surround and involve the bronchi, which are often caused by bacteria. These bacteria can spread over short distances through saliva droplets when the patient sneezes or coughs, which people around them then inhale. Objective: To determine the implementation of nebulizer inhalation therapy to overcome ineffective airway clearance in children with bronchopneumonia at Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar. Method: This study uses a descriptive case study method conducted on two pediatric patients with bronchopneumonia. The intervention was carried out for three days. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation then presented in the form of tables and narratives. Results: After a three-day intervention, both respondents showed a decrease in shortness of breath, and secretions could be removed through effective coughing. Improvement in the patient's breathing pattern was marked by changes in RR, wherein the first respondent, the RR on the first day before the intervention was 16 x/minute and Spo2 93%, but on the third day, the RR increased to 27 x/minute and Spo2 100%. In the second patient, the RR on the first day before the intervention was 15 x/minute and Spo2 94%, but on the third day, the RR increased to 21 x/minute and Spo2 100%. Conclusion: Implementation of nebulizer inhalation therapy can help improve ineffective airway clearance in children with bronchopneumonia at Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar.
